FlairFilm

FlairFilm was founded in 2017 by SABINE GRUBER as a film production company for politically, ecologically and socially committed feature films and documentaries. Sabine Gruber’s work as a producer includes Everyday Rebellion by Arash & Arman T. Riahi (Politiken’s Audience Award CPH:DOX 2013), Born in Evin by Maryam Zaree (Kompass-Perspektive-Preis Berlinale 2019, Lola for Best Documentary German Film Award 2020), Solo by Artemio Benki (ACID Cannes 20 19) and Eismayer by David Wagner (iWonderfull Grand Prize for Best Film Venice International Critics’ Week 2022) and most recently The Witness (Shahed) by Nader Saeivar (Audience Award Orrizonti Extra Venice Biennale 2024). In November 2024, Sabine Gruber stepped down from the management team and ended her work as a producer to take on a new role at the Austrian Film Institute.

 

Peter Drössler

Peter has been on board as a partner since 2018, is now managing the production company as sole director. During his studies in communication science and sociology, he was active as a press officer and board member of the environmental protection organization Global 2000. After graduating, he initially worked as a freelance PR consultant, managing numerous clients and projects, mainly in the fields of culture, science, virtual reality and design. From 2006, Peter took care of an increasing number of clients from the film industry in the area of marketing and PR for theatrical releases, including two years as managing partner of POOOL Filmverleih.

In 2014, he moved into production at Metafilm GmbH, initially as a production manager and then as a line producer. Since 2017, he has been working as a producer. In addition to his work for FlairFilm, he is also a producer of documentary films at Golden Girls Film since 2020.

Peter is a founding member and chairman of Die Produzent*innen – Allianz für innovatives und vielfältiges Filmschaffen and a board member of dok.at – Austrian Documentary Film Alliance.

 

Jona Simon | Junior Producer

After studying International Development and Cultural and Social Anthropology, Jona started in production in 2015. Since then he has worked on numerous feature films and documentaries, cinema and TV, as production coordinator, production manager and assistant director for Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion and Metafilm, among others.
Jona has been a member of the FlairFilm team since 2021.
