FlairFilm was founded in Vienna in 2017 as a film production company for politically, ecologically and socially committed feature films, documentaries and animated films with a certain touch.
FlairFilm combines many years of international experience in development, financing, production and distribution with flair and fairness.
Sabine Gruber | Producer
Sabine graduated in translation and interpreting Vienna and worked in the international programme sales department of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) for ten years before she moved to production.
Since 2010, she has produced over 20 feature films and documentaries as a producer, co-producer and executive producer for cinema and TV. She is known for Everyday Rebellion (Politiken’s Audience Award CPH:DOX and numerous other awards), Born in Evin (Kompass Perspective Award at the Berlinale as well as Lola for Best Documentary at the German Film Awards), Solo (ACID Cannes) and numerous other feature films awarded at international festivals.
Sabine is a graduate of the MEDIA European Post Production Connection EP2C, the EAVE Film Finance Forum, the EAVE Producers Workshop, the ProPro Women Producers Programme and the EAVE+ Programme. She is a board member of dok.at and a founding member of the Austrian producer’s association Die Produzent*innen.
Peter Drössler | Producer
Peter Drössler studied communication sciences and sociology at the University of Vienna and graduated with a PhD.
During his studies he was active as a spokesperson and board member of the environmental protection organisation Global 2000. After graduating, he first became a freelance PR consultant and in the following years worked for numerous clients and projects, mainly in the fields of culture, science, virtual reality and design.
During several years of cooperation with the virtual design specialist peyote, he was involved in projects nominated for the State Prize for Design and awarded the State Prize for Multimedia for the interactive installation with 72 networked projectors in the Austrian Expo Pavilion Shanghai, one of the most successful at Expo Shanghai with 3.3 million visitors in six months.
From 2006, Peter supported clients from the film industry in the field of marketing and PR for cinema releases, including two years as managing partner of Poool Film Distribution. In 2014, he moved into production, first as a producer and head of production, and later as a producer and partner in FlairFilm.
Jona Simon | Junior Producer
After studying International Development and Cultural and Social Anthropology, Jona started in production in 2015. Since then he has worked on numerous feature films and documentaries, cinema and TV, as production coordinator, production manager and assistant director for Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion and Metafilm, among others.
Jona has been a member of the FlairFilm team since 2021.
