The film “Born in Evin” by Maryam Zaree, co-produced by Sabine and already highly praised by critics, won the main prize of the Perspektive section, the KOMPASS PERSPECTIVE PRIZE, at the 69th Berlinale. The German-Austrian co-production between Tondowski Films and Golden Girls Film is the directing debut of actress Maryam Zaree, who received the Grimme Prize in 2018 for her performance in the series “4 Blocks”.
The jury justified its decision as follows: “We are very pleased to be able to award a film that has touched and impressed all jury members equally. It is an important film, a film that is as personal as it is political, and we very much hope that this militant filmmaker will take us on many more journeys!
