Black and white is a problem for the colourful world – the banalising simplification of populists who don’t know that black and white doesn’t exist without the many colours grey. Thinking in contradictions is always a misunderstanding. The abstraction of reality in black and white images, on the other hand, is a chance. An opportunity to place a filter between oneself and life, to see better, deeper, without distractions. As the complexity of life resists any black and white polarity.
A plea for looking more closely, and perhaps even looking beyond.
